The best exercise known to man

Drum roll please........  And the winner is...... The dead lift!!! This is truly the most simple, basic, and yet demanding movement that can be done by the human body.  Grabbing a bar on the floor, and standing up with it, correctly is much harder than it may seem.  Keeping good form minimizes risk of injury and maximizes results; it's done by keeping your head upright, shoulders back, keeping your butt low at the beginning of the movement, and powering up to the top pushing through your heels and keeping your core tight. A few specific benefits include but are not limited to:

1. Core stability and strength - MAJOR core exercise, it's hard work keeping your body upright.

2. Leg strength - this is a glute blaster 100%.

3. Most basic movement - people at all levels should do some version of these.

4. Metabolism ignition - working all those big muscle groups creates huge calorie demand.

NOTE: Proper execution is key! There is a bad form epidemic- FLAT LOWER BACK and butt DOWN are crucial to success. Check out Inside the Mind of a Personal Trainer for more specifics.
