Are supplements really worth it?

Everyone wants to get to their goals as fast as possible.  Some people think taking shortcuts is one way to do it, unfortunately there are no short cuts :(  so when talking about supplements, know that they are just that - supplementing your regular workouts and diet.  They don't REPLACE good food, good sleep, and good movement.  That being said, you won't get much, if any changes from supplements if you aren't doing the basics.  Therefore, I recommend taking supplements only if you're already doing the following:

1. Sleeping enough every night, around 8 hours

2. Drinking water throughout the day, around 96 fluid ounces a day

3. Regular weight training at least twice a week

4. Regular stretching and/or SMR (massage) at least three times a week

5. Eat whole foods in moderation at all meals

6. Avoid fake and processed foods

7. Eat vegetables and protein at every meal

8. Sunlight/ vitamin D daily

Sure you can take supplements without achieving the above, just know that your results will be hindered and you won't be getting you fully money's worth.  So, instead of focusing on short cuts and trying to get to your goals quickly- focus on the basics and do the little things right- it will get you much farther much quicker.  Build a good foundation and good things will naturally come after that.
